Fear of The Zone?

I breathe more slowly, my heartbeat is calm, I barely move besides ferocious typing. In 30 minutes flat, I can turn out an inspiring blog, a beautiful song, poetry, witty articles - anything you want. When Im in the zone, I got this. The world could end and we all turn into Elvis zombies with fruitcake hair and I would not be moved. This is what my passion is. Turning out quick work that is good, quality work, in spurts. The better the writing, and the less time I have, the more of a challenge it is the higher the motivation for me. The only thing I'm afraid of is the anxiety that may be triggered during my high - my focus being interrupted because of this thing. I'm afraid my health will hinder my progress. But I'm checking now, and I wasnt even aware I was breathing at all in the last few seconds passed.. and this isnt even a GOOD blog entry. Its just a passing brain dump! I'm beginning to think My focus is not incompetent or limited, it's just timed! lol This is why I think I want to be an editor.

Editing would allow me the time constraints I need to be motivated, the different topics to satisfy my craving for short sweet bursts of work, and the freedom to creatively "play doctor" on someones raw material, where they've already done the hard part. I love editing! It comes so naturally I've been editing the same 10 chapters of my book for 2 years now!

So.. how to become an editor... this is my next question. I think I will probably have to begin writing more routinely, building a reader base, and getting a feel for what I want to be my topic areas. I dont think I Want to start a new mag, but working on one would be a dream come true. I guess I should probably write some of those articles I promised a certain website and e-mag huh? Yeah... (procrastination be gone!! Get thee out demon!! :P )

Happy Writing
xo

I understand how having just a little time to produce can challenge your words in a whole new way.
