There is an old saying about jobs:
[Get paid to] "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life."
Though this is the mantra I have been living off of for the last 10 years, trying to figure out what that is for ME... I would like to improve upon this:
Find a medium to get paid to do what you ALREADY DO and LOVE... and you'll never work a day in your life.
Explanation: It is one thing to be good at something, have to find time to do it, and eventually find ways to get paid doing it. But if its not something you already would do, paycheck or no, most likely doing it will become more of a chore than something you love. This creates WORK. Case in point: If you want so badly to be a writer... do you write daily? For no gain? It is easier to motivate yourself to do something you already so excited to do that you do it anyway.. daily. The addage, in my opinion is no longer begging the question : What do you love?... it is asking me to be real with myself and ask :What will you MAKE time for? What is so important and exciting and fun to you that you will do if you do nothing else that day?
Thank God, there are only two things that answer this question. And one of them is Writing. :) At least I'm on the right track!
