Sally Homemaker: Day One

So I managed to get up and get the kids to school on time; which never would have happened had I actually had someplace to be, like work. *Rolls eyes* but whatever. Kids to school - Check.
I went over to Michaels, ( after being lost looking for JoAnn's fabric store for 20 mins) and found some awesome canvas paper for my idea to create my own focal point in my room. I absolutely LOVE the idea of taking time to work from home and simultaneously "get my life together" in my new house. The feeling of a home that I decorated, and the togetherness of it all is really comforting.

After Michaels, I got sucked into target. Lets just say I went for something for the boy(s).

Meanwhile, back at home after target.. lol.. I got a LOT done! Besides mastering the mundane ( laundry, cleaning and other nonsensical routines that clearly will always need to be done no matter how many times you do them) I finally got my living room together, and the bathroom in the basement. The bathrom was an especially pressing project, as it was beginning to become a barren haven for dead spiders, and oddly colored toilet water since no one uses it. Its not "done" but I can at least invite people to use it now without feeling like I should do a voodoo protection spell around them first.

The living room, I'm especially proud of because of the "Memory" corner I made for Jason. The kids now have a place where they can see pics of thier dad, up on display, and remember a time when we were one big family. For Nick, because he doesnt remember too much, he gets to see that his dad loved him and held him, and that he was a real person, more than just a picture. For Justin, a place to remember good times, where its okay to reminisce and not feel strange or out of place. He can see who he is and where he belongs; that this is where he came from.

I like it. It's really nice. I feel productive! ( Also because I got to squeeze in this blog before I rush out the door again to get groceries to actually COOK for dinner!! Dun Dun DUUUUN!! lol)

Tonight - Team building with my teammates and business strategy! AWAY!
