Weekend Product Review: Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner
So the Cantu smelled like heaven on a stick - cocanutty and shea buttery, yes Jen I did wanna eat it. HOWEVER... Here's what it did to my crazy curls:
WET
It was managable, but I had to put SOOOO much in it to really get it to weigh down enough to not just be wearing a curly bush. Didnt like having to use so much product. Glad it was a leave-in though, so at least I know its not damaging!
DRY
Yep. I hated how big it was, how flyaway it looked, and how much I resembled Denise Huxtable, circa 1989. My hair is shorter in the front that in the back, due to a layered cut I just got, so yes... I really looked like I was getting ready to wear mix matched socks and crazy patterned suspenders. :/
The "Unhappy Wig"
Yeah - I didnt feel like rewashing so this is where I wound up. Complete with "You Dont know me" shades. Ah well. Next try: Miss Jessie's Curl pudding. Expensive, but we'll see if its worth the hype!
OVERALL: This product probably works better for looser curlie heads than mine, like a 3A hair type. My curls arent super tight, but they are probably best described as a 3B/3C type - soft, thick, and easily mussed, corkscrew shaped curls. I could probably two strand twist my hair with this product and get a very pretty result while twisted and at take-out time. Thanks all who recommended!
xo!
